One morning, when Vin is busy roaming around his route delivering carabao’s milk, he saw something shimmering on the sidewalk, he looked closer and found out that it was a
golden ring. He thought himself that if the ring is real gold, he could sell it and he can buy
the new bicycle he has long been dreaming of. For the past two years, he has been saving
money to buy a new bicycle. He always put part of his earnings from delivering milk in his
piggy bank, but it seems like it would take him some more years before he could buy one. However, Vin did not have the heart to keep the ring or sell it. He thought that maybe
by this time the owner of the ring is already looking for it. He does not know what he will do
to find the owner of the ring so after delivering all the milk, he went straight to the house of
their barangay captain. He requested Mr. Aguas to help him find the owner of the ring. After five days Vin received a call from Mr. Aguas. He told him that he has found the
owner of the ring. It turned out that the ring belongs to Mrs. Cruz, she said that the ring is
given to her by her late husband, that is why she is very thankful that Vin is an honest boy
and returned her ring. As a sign of gratitude, Mrs. Cruz asked the address of Vin and told him that they will
meet soon. True to her promise, the next day Mrs. Cruz came knocking at Vin’s door. To
his surprise Mrs. Cruz had a gift for him, the bicycle he has been dreaming of for so long is
now in front of his doorstep.
