OBJECTIVE: Identify the pH of available solution at home using natural indicator – camote tops extract.
MATERIALS:
Calamansi juice vinegar baking soda fabcon (Downy)
Bleach (zonrox) sugar dishwashing soap (Joy) soda (Sprite)

PROCEDURE:
CAMOTE TOPS -NATURAL INDICATOR
WARNING: Please take extra pre-caution, ask your parent/guardian to assist you in boiling the camote tops.
* Prepare the camote tops. Place it in a casserole with 2 cups of water. Boil it for 5 minutes at let it cool. Transfer the extract in a clean jar/container.
Prepare 2 tablespoons of each material.
In a plastic cup, pour ¼ cup water each then mix it with 2 tablespoons of each material. Make sure to put label on your cup of solution.
Pour 2 tablespoons of camote tops extract in each solution and observe. Take down notes of the changes in color.
Identify if the solution is ACIDIC OR BASIC.
Arrange the solution form the most basic to the most acidic.
