As a young girl, Lily had always dreamed of flying. She would spend hours gazing up at the sky, imagining what it would be like to soar through the clouds like a bird. So, when she was given the opportunity to take a trip through the layers of the atmosphere, she jumped at the chance.
The journey began in a small airplane, soaring through the troposphere. Lily marveled at the lush green forests and sparkling blue oceans below her. She could feel the warmth of the sun on her face and the wind in her hair. It was like nothing she had ever experienced before.
As they ascended higher, the colors of the world began to change. The greens and blues faded into a hazy purple, and the air grew thin and cold. Lily shivered as she gazed out at the endless expanse of the stratosphere. She could see the curvature of the earth, and it took her breath away.
But the most incredible part of the journey was still to come. As they broke through the barrier into the mesosphere, Lily's heart raced with excitement. She was surrounded by a sea of stars, and the darkness was so complete that she felt as though she could touch it.
For a moment, she felt weightless, as though she were floating in space. She closed her eyes and let herself be carried away by the pure, unadulterated beauty of the universe.
When she opened her eyes again, the journey was over. The plane was descending back down to earth, and Lily knew that she would never forget the incredible experience she had just had. As the wheels touched down on the runway, she smiled to herself, knowing that she had truly lived a dream.
And this is the poem:
As I ascend higher, the colors change, From earthy greens to blues so strange, The air grows thin, the winds grow strong, And I feel like I don't belong.
I pass through clouds of cotton white, And watch the world fade out of sight, The sun grows brighter, the sky turns black, And I feel like I'm never coming back.
I reach the stratosphere, where ozone lies, And see the world with new-found eyes, The colors blend, the air is clear, And I feel like I'm finally near.
I enter space, where stars surround, And feel the universe all around, The darkness deep, the silence pure, And I feel like I've found the cure.
For all the troubles of this world, Are left behind as I unfurl, Into the layers of the sky, And soar with freedom, oh so high.
