Developing an EFE Matrix – Competitive Profile Purpose: Your college of which you currently enrolled competes with other universities. Funds, tuitions, program offered, academic reputation, location, and career services are among areas of competitiveness. The purpose of this activity is to give you practice thinking competitively about business of education in your locality. Instruction: Step 1. Identify two colleges or universities that compete directly with your institution for students. Interview several persons, perhaps classmates, who are aware of particular strengths and weaknesses of those universities or colleges. Record information about the two competing universities/colleges. Step 2. Prepare competitive profile matrix that includes your institution and the two competing institutions. Include at least ten factors in your analysis: 1. Tuitions costs 2. Quality of faculty 3. Academic reputation 4. Average class size 5. Campus landscaping 6. Athletic programs 7. Quality of students 8. Graduate programs 9. Location of the campus 10. Campus culture Step 3. Submit your competitive profile matrix to your instructor for evaluation and comments. ​
