Classifications of Risk
1. Systematic risk- It is sometimes called non-controllable risk or undiversifiable risk. This results from forces outside of the firm's control and is therefore not unique to the given security.
2. Unsystematic risk- It is sometimes called controllable risk or diversifiable risk. It represents the portion of a security's risk that can be controlled through diversification. This type of risk is unique to a given security.
