CAPTURE Informational texts are materials that are nonfiction. Their main purpose is to give facts or information on a specific topic. Writers of informational texts write them eitherto inform, to persuade, or to describe. They include biographies; autobiographies, books about science, history, and the arts; and other technical books. Informational texts have an opening or introduction, the body where the writer talks about the information and an ending or conclusion. Read the short paragraphs.
