first it gets birth from a planetary nebula and after that according to the amount of mass it has consumed it becomes a massive or just an average star then in the stages of an average star like our sun it becomes a red giant and burst after it had consumed all its fuel and becomes a white dwarf. but in the life of an massive star it becomes a red super giant and then undergoes supernova explosion when its core collapse and according to its mass it will become a neutron star or a black hole
