No it does not actually floats wholly . Its density is same as that of water .So it sinks half and other float on the surface of the water.

it floats half because when it is submerged half, the boyant forces are counter balanced

no I mean it does not submerge half in other cases where density is less or more , so why it sumberge half when density is equal? Why bf counter balanced ?

because when an object is placed in a liquid, the liquid tries to equal the density

if the densities equal in 3/4th, the ice will float 3/4th

The structure of ice is large and takes more volume as compared to water. as we know that, more the volume, less the density. ice has low density. thus it floats on water.
