In triangles BAD, angle D = 90°

Therefore by Pythagoras theorem,

AD^2 + BD^2 = AB^2

6^2 +BD^2 = 10^2

36 + BD^2 = 100

BD^2 = 64

BD = 8....(taking square roots)

Similarly, in triangle BDC,

BC^2 = 15^2 + 8^2

BC^2 = 225+64

BC^2 = 289

BC = 17....(taking square roots)
