You shouldn’t have to press hard at all, and if you do that means the blade is dull! Throw it out!
Dull blades will cut a lot deeper then you intend because of how hard you have to push on them, and can result in some very serious injuries (like cutting a vein) and leave a massive scar. It is in your best interest to use sharp blade.
And it Depends on where you’re cutting, on the wrists, not too much, just a bit of it if you’re using a sharp item, dull, press harder, arms, press a little harder, chest, not a lot of pressure needed, stomach, a lot of pressure, hips, some pressure, thighs, some pressure, legs, some pressure, you can put more pressure of you want to cut deeper.
