There are three zones in which the earth is divided according to latitudes. 1. Torrid Zone - This zone ranges from Tropic of Cancer to Tropic of Capricorn with equator in between. The sun’s rays fall perpendicular in this zone throughout.
2. Temperate Zone - This zone ranges in the north from Tropic of Cancer to Arctic Circle and from Tropic of Capricorn to Antarctic Circle in south. The sun’s rays fall slant in this region.
3. Permafrost - This zone is beyond the Artic Circle in north and Antarctic Circle in south. This zone contains the North Pole and South Pole as its centerpoints. Sun rays barely reach this zone. That is why it’s under extreme ice cover throughout the year. The sun come only for 6 months in a year and the other 6 months have no sunlight experience. It becomes harshly cold and no life survives in the cold six months.
