Assessment
Read and analyze each item. Use the following to identify when the precautionary measure
must be done.
BE - before earthquake
DE - During Earthquake
AE-after earthquake
BVE - before volcanic eruption
DVE - During volcanic Eruption
AVE - after volcanic eruption.
1. Cover your nose with damp cloth to protect yourself from the ash and volcanic dust
carried by the wind.
2. Have a Go Bag. A go bag includes food, water, flashlight, radio, batteries, rope,
medicine and important documents.
3. Listen to the radio or people of authority for safety instruction.
4. Check the safety of your family members. If someone is missing or in trouble, seek
help and find them.
5. Participate in the earthquake drill.
6. Remove ash deposits on the roof and surroundings of you house.
7. Familiarize yourself with your home and your school. Know the routes you will take
to get out of the house or building.
8. Check if drinking water is safe. Do not drink unsafe water to avoid diseases.
9. If you are, evacuated, stay in the evacuation center. Avoid going back to your house
if there is still volcanic smog.
10. If you are living in a higher land, move away from steep place because landslide
might occur
