Arrange the steps in using a compound microscope by numbering 1 to 10.

A. Turn the fine adjustment knob to get a sharper image.

B. Turn the coarse adjustment knob carefully to lower the objective until it is very close to the slide.

C. Look at the stage from the side of the microscope while doing this to make sure that the lens does not hit the slide.

D. Place the microscope on the table. Carry it with both hands. Grasp the hand and place the other hand under the base for support.

E. Rotate the revolving nosepiece until the low power objective lens click into place.

F. Adjust the mirror until you see a bright circle of light. place the slide on the stage and secure it with the stage clips.

G. turn the course adjustment knob to raise the objective slowly until you can see a clear image of the specimen.

H. the image is now in focus by using high power objective lens.

I. move the mirror towards the source of light.

J. Rotate the revolving nosepiece until the lowest power objective lenses clicks into place.
