Any binary operation is commutative if for any two elements : Addition and multiplication are commutative. Subtraction and division are not commutative in a fairly trivial way (as there is a simple relationship between the two values).
Associative Property
The word "associative" comes from "associate" or "group"; the Associative Property is the rule that refers to grouping. For addition, the rule is "a + (b + c) = (a + b) +c"; in numbers, this means 2 + (3 + 4) = (2 + 3) + 4. For multiplication, the rule is "a(bc) = (ab)c"; in numbers, this means 2(3×4) = (2×3)4.
Distributive Property
The distributive property states that a bigger task that needs to be replicated multiple times can be broken down into smaller, simpler, repetitive tasks.
