Educators, parents, and students have had to reimagine almost every facet of learning in the past year. From early childhood to community college, the COVID-19 pandemic changed school as we knew it.
This year has been filled with many learning experiences and students including myself have learned various things about one another that we have never been able to understand. As a student at Westside, this year was very challenging for me and I lost motivation to keep going with school several times. I spent this year staying at home, not hanging out with my friends, and lost things that used to give me a lot of happiness.
It has been filled with many challenges starting with coronavirus disease itself. We had to adapt to online school like never before and we had to keep going even though so much was happening around us. Many students witnessed family members getting sick around them and have lost family members and friends due to the pandemic and have felt a sense of absence in their life that could not be replaced.
