All About Bicycle
A bicycle, or bike, is a machine equipped with two wheels that is used for
getting you from one place to another. Its frame has handlebars for steering, a
seat, and two pedals. There are six niain types of bicycles: utility, mountain,
hybrid, touring, racing, and bicycle motocross (BMX).
To ride a bicycle, the rider must first sit on the saddle and place the feet on
the pedals. Then, connect the pedals by a chain to the back wheel. Next, turn the
back wheel by pushing onto the pedals. This moves the bicycle forward. Finally,
the rider will steer by turning the handlebars or by leaning.
Bicycles may have coaster brakes or hand brakes. On a bicycle with coaster
brakes, a rider stops by pedaling backward. Whereas hand brakes are controlled
using levers on the handlebars. When a rider squeezes the levers, pads squeeze
against the wheels and the bicycle stops.
Millions of people around the world use and ride bicycles because they find
it an enjoyable and healthy hobby. Aside from that, it is also good for exercise,
for sport (called cycling), and for transportation,
Although riding your bicycle is one of the best and safest ways to commute,
exercise or travel, the problem is accidents might still sometimes happen when
you don't use it with care. The key in handling or preventing the situation to
occur is to keep yourself safe all the time and be prepared, either by carrying a
small first aid kit or knowing what to do and who to call for help when it
happens.
