Paragraph 1
 Now that I’ve come out the other side, I realize Dad left me with a hefty stack of
teachings: I have to stand on my own two feet, there’s a difference between love
and co-dependence and memories are, perhaps, the only item that cannot be
taken away from us.
 I know that Dad will be with me every step of the way.
 When my phone rang, it was Mom telling me Dad had a heart attack. He didn’t
make it.
 I felt as though the perfectly carpeted floors had dropped out from under me.

 One reason is that homework gives students additional practice of skills covered
in class.
 Finally, the most important reason for homework is that it ensures review.
 Students need both guided practice in class and independent practice at home.
 Homework is an important part of the learning process in school.
 For example, the ideal composition process allows time for students to think and
to reflect on their ideas, as well as time to revise and to proofread their writing.
 New material and old material are practiced in daily assignments.
 So, students, do your daily homework, make better grades, and learn more!
 Another reason for homework is that it provides time to complete longer
assignments.
