Asteroids have fairly “predictable” orbit while comets which come from outer solar system have predictable, periodic orbits (like Halley’s comet, which returns every 75 years). A lot of comets’ mass is ice, and as they come close to the sun that ice evaporates and creates the comet's tail. Each day literally some 100 tons of micrometeorites and cosmic dust fall to Earth. Most of these bodies striking the Earth are too small to make it through the atmosphere because they usually burn up, leaving a beautiful glowing trail, popularly known as a shooting star. Some slow down in the atmosphere and land without making much of an impact. As to most dangerous asteroids, capable of a global disaster, they are extremely rare. According to experts, there is a 1-in-10,000 chance that a large (2-km diameter) asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth during the next century, disrupting the ecosphere and killing a large fraction of the world's population. This means that most of the time this doesn't happen. As the probability and impact of an asteroid and comet on Earth is extremely rare, no one should worry about being struck, personally, by a comet or asteroid. With respect to the threat to an average person from disease, car accidents, from other natural disasters and from a variety of other problems, the probability is much higher. One main reason is human error or failure, negligence and ill motive. If you go out, there is a higher probability of car accident because some drivers are reckless and do not follow traffic regulations and some tries to beat the red light. There are also places where the crime rate is high. When you are outside, you are more exposed to diseases. When you are near the fault line, there is higher impact of earthquake. The country experienced around twenty earthquakes yearly because it is located in the Pacific belt. To sum up, people should worry about the long-term threat to the Earth of asteroids and comets. The chances are extremely small that a devastating impact would occur in a single lifetime. People should worry more on disease, car accidents, from other natural disasters and from a variety of other problems as these are threats that we are facing in our daily life.

Samgllanza People should be more concerned about the dangers and threats of daily accidents like car accidents, sickness, and natural disasters such as flood, and sometimes, earthquakes and tsunamis than an asteroid or comet hitting earth's ground. The outer space is very wide, which means that there is less chance of asteroids and comets coming to the surface of earth. Fortunately, few comets have come to the ground. However dangerous those are, there is still less possibilities of those happening. There are more dangerous events that might cause harm upon us, such as transportation accidents. Those accidents can happen anytime and anywhere, even when you least expect it. Numerous tragedies happen everywhere daily. A possibility of comets/asteroids coming from above is rare, as the outer space is wide and they can miss hitting the earth, our home, because of the distance. However, it does not mean that we shall ignore those things from happening. We should only be prepared for what will come and be safe.
