how is mass related to the motion /acceleration of the ball

Objects at rest remain at rest and objects in motion remain in motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Force equals mass times acceleration (or f = m x a). For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.Force is a push or a pull exerted on an object.
The acceleration of an object depends directly upon the net force acting upon the object, and inversely upon the mass of the object. As the force acting upon an object is increased, the acceleration of the object is increased. As the mass of an object is increased, the acceleration of the object is decreased.
