January 2022 1 13 Report
A once rich patch of forest on a slope was deforested to turn it to farmland but was left unused for years because the loggers were caught without due permits. Because there were no new plant growth, the denuded patch turned from loamy land to dry rocky slope full of compacted sediment. When the monsoons came, the rains repeatedly weakened the rocky and fragmented slope until it slid down onto an unsuspecting settlement at the foot of the slope. What kind of exogenic process took place?
A. Chemical weathering
B. Physical weathering
C. Fluvial erosion
D. Mass wasting
