So he buys 60 pens at 3 for 30 that means 60 for 600. He buys the rest 60 at 4 for 48 that means 60 for 720. So the total cost of 120 pens is 1320.
He sells 120 pens at 5 for 56 that means 120 for 1344.
CP = 1320, SP = 1344, profit = 1344–1320=24
Profit %= (24/1320)*100= 1.82%
