We don't IRON knit and Lycra, we STEAM and PRESS. ... Ironing pushes and scrapes the fabric, totally pushing knit out of shape. This is not always a bad thing, we can deliberately distort knit to fit our bodies like pressing the excess side seam curve up toward the centre back and down towards centre front.

You can iron on laminated fabrics, but ONLY on the wrong side of the fabric on a dry/low setting and with a press cloth. Make certain that you don't accidentally catch the laminate lining that might be hanging off the edge of your fabric as you iron; this will ruin your fabric and your iron
