A HAPPY DAY
One of the happiest days of my life was the day we picked out our puppy at the animal shelter. We had
been preparing for a long time. We'd talked about caring for our dog. My brother and I had even worked out a
schedule for walking and training the dog. Finally, the day arrived to go to the shelter. The shelter has
homeless cats, too. We named our little puppy Raven because he was so black. Right away, my brother and I
knew which puppy we wanted. We headed straight for an 8-week-old sleek black puppy. After talking with
the shelter workers, we were able to take Raven home. Raven wagged his tail all the way home and hasn't ever
stopped. He is now two years old, and he's one of my best friends.
