A group of research students was assigned to use the autoclave as a part of their activity. Reminder for packaging and loading to the autoclave is posted on the door. “Use only autoclavable bags to package waste. Do not allow bags to touch the interior walls of the autoclave to avoid melting of plastic.” One of the members was not able to read the reminder. He carelessly loaded tissue culture flasks and gloves in ordinary plastic then proceeded with the cycle. After the procedure, he was surprised to see that materials to be unloaded from the autoclave with melted plastic.
