A. Directions: Read the following text and answer the questions that
:
follow in your notebook
(1) Sand is washing away on many beaches including those
found in resorts. After years of crashing waves and wind, some beaches
are in the danger of disappearing. However, there are many ways we
can do to save these beaches.
(2) One solution is to place large tree branches or logs on the
sand to prevent the sand being washed out to sea when there are strong
wind and typhoons.
(3) Another idea which could be a better one is to plant trees
along the beach. The roots would hold the sand in place, and the
branches would help stop it from being blown away. However, this could
not be an immediate solution because it takes some years for trees to
become fully grow.
(4) Whether it is a short-terms or a long-terms solution, that
essential is that something mush really be done in order to save our
beaches from washing away.
