1. I t is the pearly colored and crescent-shaped area of a fingernail or

toenail.

2. It is the transparent skin, which is called the 'true cuticle' which is removed

during the manicuring process.

3. It is the part of the nail that can be filed and shaped.

4. It is the part of the nail situated directly beneath the cuticle. It produces the

cells that become the nail plate.

5. It is the part of the nail where the nail plate rests on, also a continuation of
