A basketball of mass M and radius R 12.0 cm and a tennis ball of = mass m (such that M » m) and radius r = 3.25 cm are held with the bottom of the tennis ball touching the top of the basketball, and the bottom of the basketball is a height h = 0.750 m above the ground. The balls are then dropped together. What is the maximum height that the centre of mass the tennis ball reaches after the balls bounce off the floor?
