Weathering can affect the community either negatively or positively.
As a positive example, weathering can increase the growth rate of plants and vegetative organisms. The cause being the breaking down of minerals and rocks which eventually makes soil. This is an example of chemical weathering.
As the negative effect however, weathering can also lead to the opposite effect of soil growth, soil erotion. This will halt the progress of vegetative growth due to the loss of necessary nutrients in order for the plants to grow.
Of course, as the plants gain receive their positive and negative effects from weathering, they can also affect other organisms that need them to survive. such as humans and animals.
