Given,
Three fractions are given that is [tex]\frac{1}{2}, \frac{2}{5}, \frac{3}{4}[/tex] .
To Find,
we need to find which number is greater or smaller by arranging them in descending order.
Solution,
In order to arrange them in descending order,
first, we need to make their denominator the same for that we will take L.C.M of denominators of given fractions.
L.C.M of 2, 5, 4
=2x2x5
=20
so, the fractions become,
[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] x [tex]\frac{10}{10} =\frac{10}{20}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{2}{5}[/tex] x [tex]\frac{4}{4} =\frac{8}{20}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{3}{4}[/tex] x [tex]\frac{5}{5} =\frac{15}{20}[/tex]
now,
arranging them in descending order
[tex]\frac{15}{20} ,\frac{10}{20},\frac{8}{20}[/tex]
Hence,
3/4, 1/2, 2/5 is the order from greatest to least.
