:You are walking alone. Suddenly, a mad dog blocks your way you felt afraid and you ran fast as you could.
There are three types of neurons— sensory neuron, motor neuron and interneuron. The motor neuron carries messages away from your brain or central nervous system to your muscles causing you to react.
When you saw that mad dog, your mind was probably telling you to run away. You were probably nervous and was scared of the dog. Neurons are formed like wires, although, they are being separated by spaces. Information from one neuron to another flows across a synapse— a synapse is known as the space that separates neurons. Nerve impulses travel from the dendrite to an axon, then to the next neuron. Axon releases a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. The molecules of acetylcholine diffuse across the synapse then special receptors at the end of the dendrites of the following neuron binds with acetylcholine, causing the transmission of messages to continue.
Serious situations like seeing a mad dog that seemed like it was going to attack you any time, stimulates the sympathetic nervous system.
