suppose denominator is 'x' then,
the numerator of fraction is 8less than the denominator.
x-8/x ..........(1)
numerator is increased by 17
denominator is decreased by 1
x-8+17/x-1=3/2
by cross multiplication
2(x-8+17)=3(x-1)
2x-16+34=3x-3
2x+18=3x-3
18+3=3x-2x
21=x
put value in. ......(1)
x-8/x=13/21
