1. Which of the two produced brighter light during same position? 2. Why did the light bulb and candle ditter in brightness? 3. Did the brightness of light from the incandescent bulb and candle change with distance? 4. How is the brightness of light affected by distance from the light source? 5. From your observation, how does light travel? 6. Which source of Ught will you prefer to use at night, candle or incandescent bulb? Why?
Answers & Comments
Answer:
1. The brightness depends on only two things: the luminosity of the light-bulb, and the distance from the bulb to the screen.
2.Incandescent Light Shines because of Heat
This is because incandescent lamps produce light from heat. The filament in an incandescent lamp is what heats up. Filaments are made out of double coils of tungsten, a type of metal.
3.There is an inverse relationship between distance and light intensity - as the distance increases, light intensity decreases. This is because as the distance away from a light source increases, photons of light become spread over a wider area.
4.as the distance increases, light intensity decreases.
Suppose that some time later the brightness of the light is either greater or lesser; if the intensity diminished you would know that the source was moving away from you and if it became brighter you would know that the source was moving towards you (assuming the light source itself remained the same).
5.Light travels in straight lines
Once light has been produced, it will keep travelling in a straight line until it hits something else. Shadows are evidence of light travelling in straight lines. An object blocks light so that it can't reach the surface where we see the shadow.
6. LIGHT BULB STRENGTH: These night light bulbs use 4-Watts. SOFT WHITE BULBS: Perfect to use in night lights. LONG-LASTING: The small light bulbs are rated to last 1.8 years based on 3 hours of daily use
