Answer:
1. Which of the materials represents the layers of rocks in the earth’s crust?
Answer:
From mud and clay to diamonds and coal, Earth's crust is composed of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. The most abundant rocks in the crust are igneous, which are formed by the cooling of magma. Earth's crust is rich in igneous rocks such as granite and basalt.
2. What happened to the pile of books when you pulled a book at the bottom?
Answer:
When the piece of paper placed under a pile of books is suddenly pulled it is set into motion, while the pile of books remain in the state of rest due to inertia of rest. Thus, the pile of books does not move.
3.What happened to the small community on top of the books after the
“earthquake?”
Answer:
Many houses were destroyed and various buildings were damaged due to the earthquake. The road cracked because of this, and when this earthquake comes back don't panic and be prepared to protect yourself from those who will fall from above and be active and think positive. (not sure this answer but this is my just opinion)
4. What changes occur on the surface of the earth during an earthquake as seen
in the activity?
Answer:
Earthquakes often cause dramatic geomorphological changes, including ground movements—either vertical or horizontal—along geologic fault traces; rising, dropping, and tilting of the ground surface; changes in the flow of groundwater; liquefaction of sandy ground; landslides; and mudflows.
