1. United States of America (USA) contains about 3,100 counties. Suppose you have a table in a database that stores for each county, its name (up to 40 characters), its description (up to 50 characters), its state (a two-letter code), its population and its median income (both as 32-bit numbers). How much memory space would the whole database take in kilobytes? Here, it is assumed that a single character is in 8-bit ASCII format.
2. Michael owns a computing system having a disk with a total storage capacity of 128GB. He needs to install an operating system which will require around32 GB. He needs also to install a software suite requiring20 GB. Moreover, he also wanted to save his project document and video presentation with file sizes of 19, 549 KB and 64, 478 KB respectively. How much storage space (in GB) will remain on the disk after he finishes the installation and saving his files?
