Does sexism make a difference in running a business?
Do you agree that men have more power than women when it comes to running a business?
*Answer
Women are more grounded, focused and have more personal reasons for wanting success. Men may be driven by societal expectations that they will be powerful businessmen. But i personally think that both genders can run a successful business depending on how they run it.
Yes, Sexism damages an organisation’s image, Sexist expectations and behaviour have been shown to negatively affect employees’ performance, sense of belonging, mental health and job satisfaction.
No, what men can do, a women can. I believe that business does not have a gender. Everyone can be successful if they work hard.
*Explanation
Four-in-ten say society generally treats men and women equally. A slightly larger share (45%) says society favors men over women. Only 9% say society favors women over men. Attitudes have changed considerably over the past 20 years. When the Gallup Organization asked this question in 1993, only 23% said society generally treats men and women equally, and 62% said society favors men over women.
So the real answer is most likely that neither sex is “better” at entrepreneurship. Each gender has their own motivations and desires that they are trying to fulfill.
