1. CONCENTRATION CAMP – you are an inmate in a concentration camp. A sadistic guard is about to hang your son who tried to escape and wants you to pull the chair from underneath him. He says that if you don’t, he will not only kill your son but some other innocent inmate as well. You don’t have any doubt that he means what he says. What should you do?

One may never cooperate with evil.
If you pull the chair from under your son, your son will die; that’s a given. So you can’t do that.
All you have is the word of a man - who is unethical enough to threaten to kill your son, so you have no reason to trust him in anything - that another person will be killed if you don’t cooperate. But that threatened killing puts no duty on you; if that hypothetical other person is killed, it’s the doing of the unjust people who threatened your son - not your doing.
So leave the chair right where it is.
